Arthur Symons (February 28, 1865 - January 22, 1945), was a British poet and critic.
Life Innate around Wales, of Cornish parents, Symons was educated privately, spending much of his instance within France and Italy. Within 1884-1886 he edited quaternary of Bernard Quaritch's Shakespeare Quarto Facsimiles, and inside 1888-1889 seven plays of the "Henry Irving" Shakespeare. He became the member of the staff of the Athenaeum in 1891, and of the Saturday Review in 1894. His 1st volume of verse, Times & Nights (1889), consisted of dramatic monologues. His late verse is influenced by the close learn of modern French writers, of Baudelaire and especially of Verlaine. Symons contributed verse form & essays to the Yellow Book, including an important piece which was late expanded into his book on The Symbolist Movement in Literature. Within 1902 he made the choice from either his sooner verse, published when Verse form. He translated from either a Italian of Gabriele D'Annunzio The Dead City (1900) and The Child of Pleasure (1898), and from the French of Émile Verhaeren The Dawn (1898). To The Verse form of Ernest Dowson (1905) he prefixed an essay on the deceased poet, world health organization was the rather English Verlaine & got numerous attractions for Symons.
